Systems of Release is an evolving multimedia project and print based magazine archiving fragments of New York City’s underground electronic music communities. Founded in 2023 by my creative partner and I, Systems of Release (SOR) began as a discord server built with the intent to connect electronic music lovers and avid dancers across NYC. The project soon evolved into a printed magazine published annually amid other imaginative recollections of the scene. Our small team thoughtfully develops each issue, immortalizing the people, places, scenes and spaces that make us move.
